Legion Publishing Announces First Graphic Novel via Kickstarter

Birmingham, AL – Small publisher Legion is presenting their first Graphic Novel, an adaptation of their top-trending book, Ship’s Boy.  Ship’s Boy is the first in a series of seven science fiction novels detailing the adventures of David Birkenhead, a freed slave who rises to the highest ranks of society.

All seven novels have been ranked in the top 100 books in their genre on Amazon, with over 17,000 copies distributed. Written by Phil Geusz and adapted by Studio Prey, the graphic novel will bring this exciting story to a new media and new audience.

The Kickstarter covers the cost of the adaptation as well as the production cost of the first print run, and offers several incentives, including digital copies of the original novel series, merchandise, and limited edition signed copies of the graphic novel. In addition, the original novel is being offered for free on Amazon for Kindle, Barnes and Nobles for Nook, and via Smashwords for all e-reader formats.

The base Kickstarter is for a black and white interior, estimated at 124 pages, with stretch goals covering an upgrade to partial and full-color. If successful, further Kickstarter campaigns will follow to adapt the remaining books in the series.
