New Single Release 'Gotta Have You' by Risa Binder, Will Get You!

“I love you like I love the Sun, shining down no matter what” sings Risa Binder one of the new crop of rising stars to emerge from the Nashville scene into what is now becoming one of the most competitive and lucrative genres in Music today..the Country Crossover market where otherwise erstwhile mainstream Country Stars now ply their trade alongside other artists of different genres.

Perhaps more widely known via the ever increasing number CMT Crossover events where the organisers match the likes of mainstream AOR giants such as the band “Journey” with the new generation of so called Country Stars such as Rascal Flatts the market is growing on a year by year basis.

However to return to the delectable Ms Binder and her latest single “Gotta Have You”, Risa sings with a clarity of purpose and well tuned pitch that would put many an established star to shame. The song is written by Phil Barton alongside Emily Shackleton and Victoria Banks and has been described elsewhere as a piano driven mid tempo love song (for what that is worth).

The plain truth is it’s a good song that hooks you fairly quickly with its opening sequence and then builds nicely to the main chorus and the vocal harmonies that accompany this particular version of the song really work well.

There is nothing much to argue about here, the production is excellent and for those who are interested in these things. The song was recorded at Station West in Nashville and produced by Luke Wooten who amongst others has production credits for the likes of Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, and Kellie Pickler to name but a few so the pedigree is there and you get exactly what you expect, a classy production that will not disappoint.

If we give the musicians a quick name check, the track features Jeff King and Derek Wells on Electric Guitars, Michael Rojas and Tony Harrell on Keyboards, John Willis and Ilya Toshinsky on Acoustic Guitars, Jimmy Carter on Bass, Dan Dugmore on Pedal Steel and Steve Brewer on Drums.

Having finished all the pre-release activities such as the finalising of the video and such like, “Gotta Have You” is available from Warehouse Productions and can be bought online at itunes and CDBaby amongst others and goes to Radio for general release on 23rd of June.

As I said, this arrangement of the song works, it’s well produced and would sit quite happily amongst the latest more high profile releases from the more established artists within this genre.

It’s good; makes you sing along, so go out and buy it or download it from your favourite online music store.
